The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of
2009 (ARRA) has far-reaching effects in healthcare.
As you likely know, the Act includes a planned
expenditure of $34 billion for HIT, with $32 billion
going to hospitals and physicians, as an incentive
to adopt certified, interoperable Electronic Health
Records (EHRs). maxIT Healthcare has partnered
with HCIC to offer a quick yet comprehensive assessment
of your organization's readiness to benefit from
the ARRA. The assessment readiness report will
typically be delivered at the end of a one week
on-site analysis for an investment of $10,000
plus expenses for an average size provider organization.
To have an interoperable system functioning by
2011 you need to plan now. In fact, a number of
actions need to be started immediately in order
to assure that your organization is positioned
to maximize its benefits from the Act, regardless
of the final definition of key terms. Furthermore,
there are significant risks that must be avoided
in order to achieve a successful outcome. A poorly
planned or executed EHR implementation will have
a negative financial and qualitative impact on
your organization, and could led to costs far
in excess of any potential reimbursement. HCIC
can help. They have helped literally hundreds
of healthcare organizations plan, contract for,
implement and optimize EHR systems over the years.
